Perinthalmanna: Pookkoya Thangal Memorial Government College., Perinthalmanna was a milestone in higher education in Valluvanad. Perinthalmanna is the one of growing town of Kerala (Malappuram District) and also a important area of Valluvanad. PTM Govt. college is situated in 3 kms away from Perinthalmanna Town (Cherppulassey Road)
PTM college managed by Government of Kerala and affiliated by University of Calicut. Now., Have 5 Degree Programmes and One PG Programme here. Now College is in growing stage. One of the Minister of Kerala Ministry (Sri. AP Anilkumar) is a old student of this college.

PTM college have broad land (around 25 acres). Some infrastructural development activities doing well (Work of Science Block, Sports Complex and many more...). One member of current syndicate members of University of Calicut is from this college- Dr. Sainul Abid Kotta.

History
Pookoya Thangal Memorial (P.T.M.) Government College, Perinthalmanna came into existence in July 1975, as a resonance to the pressing demand of the public for an institution providing University Education to the younger generation of Perinthalmanna and its Suburbs. The College committee constituted with Dr. P.R. Warriar as President and Advocate C. Koya as the Secretary and a team of enlightened public men as its members took upon itself the responsibility of finding and equipping a suitable place to house the College temporarily. The western wing of the main building of the Government Polytechnic, Perinthalmanna and also its auditorium came in hand for the purpose and with certain arrangements and alteration it was made ready for the College. The College committee acquired 25.01 acres of land 3 kms away from Perinthalmanna at Pathaikkara in 1979 and the college was shifted to the new building on 10.12.1987. The college was upgraded as Degree College from the academic year 1991-92 and PG Course started during 2001-02. The College is included under Sections 2(f) & 12(B) of UGC act since 2007.
